Interesting article from the November, 2008 issue of Radiology Today (Nuclear Medicine Quarterly section) regarding the effectiveness of PET scanning for early diagnosis of cancer as well as a future prediction of patient outcome. The article also references Homer A. Macapinlac, MD, chair of the department of nuclear medicine at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and president of the Society of Nuclear Medicine’s PET Center of Excellence.
